It's Tax Time

United Way Offers Two Options for Free Tax Preparation

NEED HELP FILING YOUR TAXES?

The United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties offers two options for FREE tax preparation!  Through these programs, taxpayers in our community save an average of $200 in fees and many tax clients also find they're eligible to get money back from the IRS, through Earned Income Tax Credits, Child Tax Credits and other credits.

During the 2016 tax season, the VITA program saved our tax clients $357,750 in fees as we filed 2,385 tax returns for free with $872,165 in Earned Income Tax Credits (EITC) and $2,759,100 in federal refunds being returned to the community—and the budgets of hard-working area families.
