The United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne
Counties is pleased to offer a variety of
volunteer experiences to help you make a tangible difference
right here in our community.
We are always looking for people to share their passion,
expertise and resources to help advance the common good and
create a better quality of life for all of us who call
Northeastern Pennsylvania home!
Each year, we rely on hundreds of volunteers to assist with
fund-raising and community impact fund decision making.
Fundraising volunteers assist during the
annual campaign while members of
the Community Impact
Fund Distribution committees make sure those donated
dollars are well spent in the community.
In addition, a number of other special committees meet
throughout the year to plan such events as the Mike Munchak
Charity Golf Classic, Rock United--Battle of the Bands and more.
The cornerstone of our volunteer efforts if the annual
Day of Caring
which mobilizes hundreds of people throughout Lackawanna and
Wayne Counties to work first-hand with the United Way and our
network of partner agencies to make a difference! The annual
Youth Day of
Caring mobilizes area students in grades 7-12 in much
the same way.
