The United Way of Lackawanna and Wayne Counties is pleased to offer a variety of volunteer experiences to help you make a tangible difference right here in our community.

We are always looking for people to share their passion, expertise and resources to help advance the common good and create a better quality of life for all of us who call Northeastern Pennsylvania home!

 

 

In an effort to increase the collaboration, connections, and relationships among local non-profits and community members, United Way is excited to introduce the online volunteer and donor opportunity system called “Get Connected.”

 

Get Connected is an easy-to-use web-based platform that matches the right donors, advocates, and volunteers with the right opportunities in our neighborhoods.

 

Use Get Connected to find ways to give your unused materials and household items to agencies in need of donations, advocate for causes that require your passionate voice, and volunteer your time in ways that make a real difference.

Each year, we rely on hundreds of volunteers to assist with fund-raising and community impact fund decision making. Fundraising volunteers assist during the Campaign.htm"> annual campaign while members of the Community Impact Fund Distribution committees make sure those donated dollars are well spent in the community.

In addition, a number of other special committees meet throughout the year to plan such events as the Mike Munchak Charity Golf Classic, and more.

The cornerstone of our volunteer efforts if the annual Day of Caring which mobilizes hundreds of people throughout Lackawanna and Wayne Counties to work first-hand with the United Way and our network of partner agencies to make a difference! The annual Youth Day of Caring mobilizes area students in grades 7-12 in much the same way.
