To foster a sense of community and a love of volunteerism at a young age, our United Way holds Youth Day of Caring for students in grades 7-12 each spring, sponsored by Pennstar Bank.

The students complete a variety of projects ranging from light landscaping and cleaning to client interaction and office work. The day will conclude with a picnic lunch at the Greater Scranton YMCA sponsored by Gerrity's, Crystal Soda Company and Community Medical Center.
