H5N1

For well over a year, numerous agencies in our region have been meeting on a regular basis to begin planning for the possibility of a widespread outbreak of the H5N1 virus, more commonly known as "The Bird Flu."

As with any other flu, simple everyday behaviors such as consistent hand washing can help to stop the spread of the H5N1 and MRSA virus. We have prepared full-color posters as a reminder about the importance of good hygiene. If you would like copies of this poster to place in your facilities, please contact us at 343-1267 or email your request.

Unlike the common flu, the implications of this particular strain of H5N1 warrant a greater degree of individual and community advance preparation. On-going education is essential.
