Summer Learning Day

Children can lose up to two months of essential math and reading skills during the summer months but there is plenty families and caregivers can do to support learning during the summer so your child doesn’t lose the skills he worked so hard to learn in school.

Take the Pledge to keep children you love learning and healthy this summer so they can soar in the school year ahead. Also remember to keep their brains and bodies active with a healthy dose of reading, fruits and vegetables and active play every day.

There are many quality summer learning opportunities in our community. Kids can learn and have fun at the same program – many offer reading and math as well as arts and other activities, and serve meals and make time for physical activity. Or, utilize some of the tips below to help create fun learning activities for the child in your life!
